perspectives

Hello all! There are a couple of workshops going to be held on Friday, at St. Andrew's Cathedral.

Session One - 1 to 3 pm
The Code of Life

What secrets does DNA contain for life? Can man break the DNA code? Why do the scientists who discovered the structure think 'the powers held traditionally to be the exclusive property of the gods might one day be ours.'? Can the hidden codes produce life?

Professor Lin Pin Heng is a lecturer from the Fac of Medicine, at the NUS.

Session Two - 3.30 to 5.30pm
Belief in God - Intellectual Suicide?

With the advancement in Mathematics, Science and Technology, is the belief in God intellectual suicide? Can Jesus be born of a virgin? Can water turn into wine? Can the existence of God ever be proven?

Dr Ng Pak Tee is an Assistant Prof at the Policy and Leadership Studies Academic Group at the NIE, where he teaches school leaders, teachers, Master and PhD candidates.

If you all are interested (I personally think the second one is interesting), please tell me by Thursday! I don't think I can make it but I'll try if I can. It's on Friday, August 10 at St. Andrew's Cathedral-North Transept hall. And it's brought to you free of charge by Singapore Youth for Christ!
