"the fact that you're struggling means you're saved".
just listened to a sermon by paul washer again. my couz sent me the link. the last part really encouraged me. i was scared for the rest of the 1 hour. like what was good enuff to be a Christian, i know there's a lot of ppl out there who call themselves Christian but arent really Christians. and i really dont wanna be like them. anyway recalling back on my walk with God this year. it has really been interesting. and i really can't say where i am now, i just can say i really wanna know Him, and trust Him and love Him. but i guess being about 7 months away from the hunger camp, 4 days set aside to seek Him, im starting to drift away into the world, and it's choking me. im struggling, and im praying that God will not let me choke to death. i hear the sermon, and it makes me wanna go out there and preach the word, to just give my all for God, then my questions of doubt come in, and then my life now comes in. how to live for Christ now? it used to be, how to have the best of both worlds, but that is like so wrong, i really meant, how to live for Christ now...
i asked God today to help me live joyfully and peacefully, and He sort of answered it, or at least i grasp abit of what He's trying to tell me through His word, and the sermon. Christianity, though God promises joy and peace, it is a by-product. and then they say the walk with God is not easy. last time i used to ask, how can it be not easy if you have the Almighty God on your side, and joy and peace to keep you happy. The fact is we live in the world, in the flesh, and day by day we have to continually ask God to purify us, sanctify us, and deny the flesh, even though we are born again. Hence, it is a struggle, and it is really not easy. and if you know me, i dont like struggles, dont like hard work, im someone who has been pampered for a rather big part of my life. heh. i admit, and i know God wun pamper me cuz He wants to mold me.
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, i would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if i go to prepare a place for you, i will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." John 14:1-4
hey rbc!, just wanted to post this up as an encouragement and a check lah. yupp. and im just thankful to God that we have moved up to reachlight, and it's not coincidental that the book we are studying on is 1John. yupp. we should all take this opportunity to grow, to dig deep into His word, know Him more esp we are growing up to be men and women of God (jess norman, hehh, you all got much less time! LOL. kidding) lol jia you!! and lets look forward to the life God has planned for us, and the fellowship we have on Sundays!
